Roadster Roasters

[Update: This establishment is permanently closed.]

Instantly, right after our foodie meet-up here at Roadster Roasters, I mentally categorized it under my "Where to Take Friends to Stress-eat" folder and became one of my new favorite places in the metro. With the type of work we have at the office, stress-eating is a norm after days and days of peak periods. My friends and I always look for a place that can satisfy our cravings after a hard day's work: something meaty, salty and crunchy. And this is the perfect place.

Firstly, the interiors. A lot of wood, concrete and bricks, neon lights and some wall art. Drop lights hung in knots and with the use of old tires and a small part of the wall was filled with vintage embellishments. On the left you'll see the phrase 'Fueled By Meat' in luminous pink light and on the right are the words 'Embrace the Toxicity.' A few minutes in, I'm already in love with this place.

Second, the music. They consistently played '90s alternative music for an hour or so, and I really enjoyed it having in the background while taking food photos and while we were eating. Though the pace changed at the latter part and they began playing different songs. Lol. Please don't stop playing alternative music in the future!

And now the best part, the food!

The okays 👌:

Roadster Salad. Okay, you have to give them props for trying to incorporate something on the healthy side, but since it had big pork belly chunks on it, does it count? I think not! This dish seemed a little out of place for me. It was okay but I think a lot of people would skip this and just go full blast on the their meats.

Hand-cut Fries and Onion Rings. Both, I think, would be perfect for a few rounds of beer (they offer alcohol here so best pair these appetizers with those!) but if not, they were just 'sakto lang.'

Roadster Chicken. It looked golden and perfectly cooked! The skin had that crisp and flavor but the meat needs a tad of tweaking flavor-wise to give it a little more oomph. It was a little dry, too.

The wows 😍:

Roadster Nachos. It was a heap of flavors with the crunchy nachos, ground beef and cheese! (I might have forgotten a few more ingredients in the mix.) It was a great way to start out food trip.

Roadster Chicharon. It was freaking sinful and I love it. I was careful not to munch too much of it though, considering the plethora of food I have yet to taste that day. So good!

Smoked Corn. This was certainly something new and I thought the presentation was great. I enjoyed the bacon bits on top of slightly charred on the outside corn kernels, all dressed with mayonnaise. Will definitely order this when we come back.

Mashed Potato and Sweet Potato. The consistency was perfect and the flavor was spot on. Not too buttery or salty!

House Blend Iced Tea. A lot of restaurants claim they make their own iced tea but the taste says otherwise. *cough*powdered*cough* But Roadster Roasters' signature blend actually had a different taste and it was refreshing and enjoyable to drink!

The faves ⭐:

BBQ Pork Ribs. It was everything I could ask for. It had beautiful presentation and you kind of fall in love with how it looked. You just know it's going to be great. The meat was really tender and it had a burst of flavor with every bite. I could never get tired of eating this! Can't help but crave for its meaty goodness while writing this review!

Texas-style Slow Cooked Beef Brisket. Never judging thin strips of meat again! Though the presentation was simple, this turned out to be my absolute favorite. Now I've always been partial with pork and I'd have it any time of the day, but this -- the texture, the taste, everything was such a surprise, I wish I'd eaten more of it! Best dipped with the sauce that came with it, I kid you not, you'll never get enough of it. I'll definitely come back for more of this and I'll pair it with rice!

When we visited Roadster Roasters, they were still in their soft opening, so yes, defo there's aspects that can still be improved. But overall, I loved the food, I enjoyed the music and was pleased with their service. I've already mentioned the place to my office colleagues and I can't wait to wow them with all of the meaty goodness when we go back! Big thanks once again to Zomato and of course to Roadster Roasters for having me!
