Celeste and Jesse Forever

I went on a binge downloading of movies this weekend and I managed to successfully download and watch 5 films: Liberal Arts, Smashed, Electrick Children, this and Blue is the Warmest Color (which are all super great by the way). Celeste and Jesse Forever, for me, is the type of movie that just knows the points where to take a jab and somehow, how to make you feel better about it. I kinda hated it at first because I feel like I'm watching the story of my life (sort of) but I also found it comforting that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Okay, I love the movie. It got me teary eyed crying on most parts because, as the say, there's just so much feels.

Especially this part:

I may sound like a total crybaby but I totally lost it at this scene. I know I've never been married but being in an long-term relationship felt a little bit like that. You've gone too complacent with each other, you just thought things will somehow work out. You keep telling yourself, "He'll/she'll come around." But we all know how it ends.

Anyway, the movie was really great! But it takes you back to that place you'd I'd rather not go. I'd been dodging movies like this for the longest time but I'm still glad I got to watch it. Well, it was not really a sad story. The movie's about friendship and familiarity and divorce and learning to move forward. It was bittersweet. I really loved how the movie ended.

Also, the soundtrack was AMAZING. Opening song was an instant favorite. I usually get my music from movies because soundtracks are the best. They're diverse but still cohesive, and so good.

Sometimes I find myself sittin' back and reminiscing
Especially when I have to watch other people kissin'
And I remember when you started callin' me your missus
All the play fightin', all the flirtatious disses
I'd tell you sad stories about my childhood
I don't why I trusted you but I knew that I could
We'd spend the whole weekend lying in our own dirt
I was just so happy in your boxers and your t-shirt
