Pasig Lovin': Charlie's and Milky & Sunny

This will be a long post since we were sinfully gluttonous yesterday that we tried 2 places to dine in. Talk about seizing the moment!

The plan to go to The Real Thing Diner has been moved again as Cy wants me to be raving about this food joint in Pasig (Pabs is from Pasig). Well, of course, I said yes upon learning that along the road where this food joint is located, there is also a Moonleaf branch and a string of other restaurants we've never been to before.

And our food crew is growing! Haha! First, it was just Cy and myself, then Pabs and then En!

With Besplen En and our Beatles shirts! (Hehe.)
The only time I've ever been to Pasig was when I applied for a job at this certain agency/cooperative, which means I don't really know anything about the place. From Shaw (back of Teleperformance), there's a tricycle terminal to another place (Mesco?) and from there, another tricycle ride to East Kapitolyo.

I wasn't able to bring a camera so these are all shots from our mobile phones.

View from outside.

Set-up of the place was literally eat-and-go. Charlie's is situated next to a carwash, too. If you're looking for fine dining or a 5-star set-up, this is not the place. Everything is self-service and the condiments are placed on the fridge available for everyone's use. We preferred to sit outside as my friends needed to smoke. I was overwhelmed by the menu! I didn't expect they'd offer so much variety! So, I just asked Pabs what was the specialty and ordered it. I also wanted to try the Key Lime pie but they weren't serving it that day so we chose a Turtle cake instead.

Black Angus Burger with fries and Charlie's Iced Tea
Turtle Pie
Verdict: I really enjoyed the burger! I loved that it had the right amount of mustard which doesn't over empower everything with the burger. I love the fresh onion and tomato as well! Very juicy and tasty. The fries look good and taste good. It was crunchy and well seasoned with salt and pepper. Even the house blend iced tea is great! I like that their signature drink doesn't taste like any others I've tried out there! It's another story for the dessert though. I didn't like it. I think it's too pricey for it's quality.

There's just this one food attendant that is just rude. He never smiled, when asked for a knife, he just said "Nasa loob po." in a less than polite tone. He literally grabbed the numbers that were given to us after we ordered that were placed on our table. He just came up to the table and snatched the numbers.

I was surprised too with how much people came to the place! Families, those who just order to go and other people who look like they belong to the wealthy category. Haha. I've read some reviews on other blogs that this place is overrated. But not for me. Even though we were not very happy with that one particular food attendant, I still recommend this place.

Quick trivia: Charlie's Grind and Grill's Black Angus with Shrooms burger is part of Spot.ph's Top 10 Gourmet Burgers!

Now, on the way to Charlie's, we saw Sunny and Milky. They offer breakfast food and comfort food which is just perfect because BREAKFAST FOOD IS THE BEST KIND OF FOOD OUT THERE. Please don't even try to debate me on this one. Hahaha!

And since we're already in the area and I don't have a clue when's the next time we're gonna be back there, we mutually agreed to eat there. Yes, after eating at Charlie's. Now, we took our time at Charlie's with all our stories before we headed there. We had to make room in our stomachs, you know.

It's impossible to miss this joint since it has the sky blue color palette and artsy feel

Sorry, had to take it in two snaps. The place was packed!
You will just fall in love with this place. Milky and Sunny is a small breakfast place that has the coolest and prettiest interiors I've seen so far. I was just so excited to try everything (but I know I can't)! Good food and visually excellent place!

4 things I love in one picture: Spam, egg, purple and the Mad Hatter <3
Yes, of course! Spam! I ordered Spam with rice (you can choose from plain or garlic) and egg (either sunny side up or scrambled) with a slice of tomato and cucumber served in a purple plate for 120PhP. I don't mind paying that amount for my favorite food in the world. Heehee.

Cy's Chocolate chip pancakes and En's Bowl of Honey Stars!
Gastronomical satisfaction was indeed achieved this day. I would definitely be coming back to this area as I failed to visit Moonleaf despite the fact that it was just next door to Milky and Sunny. I was just so full. We decided to wander around the East Kapitolyo area just to see the other places we could visit in the future.

Ramen Cool, I'll see you soon!
