    Patricia

Majority of my friends call me Trish, I guess you could call me that too. I'm a transcriptions editor with a really messed up body clock and never ending affinity for films, food and written words. I like street art, sweets, neutrals and monochromes, sushi, window seats, golf carts and lazy weekends.

Some of the things that completely preoccupy me are my fixation with the now defunct The Civil Wars and their beautiful art of sadness, Oh Sehun, sleeping, CSS and HTML, @iameden, and those damn hypnotizing Tasty videos. Top country in my travel bucketlist? Iceland. But the one that will always have my heart? Hong Kong.

Zomato #FoodieMeetUp: Brad and Pit's Ribshack Kapitolyo

Meat lovers that travel all the way to Marikina to taste Brad and Pit's ribs are in for a good news: they now have a branch in Kapitolyo! Their Lilac Street branch was actually a part of Zomato and ABS-CBNS's Hunger Games food crawl last year, so I already new what to expect with their dishes. I got an invite to visit their Kapitolyo branch (with Zomato once again) as they were introducing some new stuff to their menu.

The theme stayed consistent with their Marikina counterpart, the only difference is this one's brighter and more spacious. The vibe is very festive, with the music blaring and the black walls drawn with colorful quotes and funny sayings. There's a whole lot of vintage collectibles and trinkets decorating the entire interiors as well. The layout somehow tells me that it's an old house that's converted into a restaurant. There's a separate room that you can book for private functions (good for ~20 people with own rest room!) and there's also an al fresco area! Nice!

    On the table:

The 'Brad' of Brad and Pit's, Brad Pineda, was there that afternoon of our visit and indulged us with their amazing food! (In case you're wondering, the other half of this duo is Chef Rafael "Pitol" Buzeta. So yeah, it could be a word play to the Hollywood actor's name or just a coincidence that one Brad and one Pit decided to put up a business together. Hehe.)

Rib Mountain (Price depending on size you're ordering)
Of course, even though there's new items on the menu, it is still a must to have some of their famous ribs when in Brad and Pit's. It's almost a sin not to! As with the last time I sampled this, it's still tender, moist, flavorful and satisfying. Thumbs up for the consistent delivery of their signature product!

    Carribean Wings
This was okay for me. I love chicken wings and it's probably the only spicy viand I can tolerate (and Bicol Express pala) and eatanytime of the day and this was pretty good. I saw in their menu that they have the Hot Carribean Chick and I'm definitely trying that next time.

Grilled Tuna Belly in barbecue sauce (PhP 385)
Grilled Tuna Belly in cream sauce (PhP 385)

In an effort cater to the not-so-meat-loving crowd, they've included fish in their menu, hitting two birds with one stone in the process: one, it widened their menu for more variety; and two, it's something they could offer during Holy Week, when most people abstain from meat, so they could still stay competitive. Nice move, I admit. I prefer the one in cream sauce just because I'm a white sauce kind of girl. 😁

    Cubano sandwich (PhP 135)
This cubano is such a steal for its serving! This can feed 2 people! Really loved the tender pork and ham in the crisp, crusty baguette with that sweet-tangy barbecue sauce and mustard and a touch of pickles and cheese as well. This was something I didn't expect I'd enjoy eating.

    Taco sticks (PhP 165)
A different way to eat and enjoy tacos! Same delicious Mexican favorite but less on the mess. 👌👌👌

    Lava Cake (PhP 165)
After all the meat that we've had, we concluded our dining experience with a warm Lava Cake. I'm pretty sure this is boxed cake mix (please correct me if I'm wrong) but I liked the idea of something gooey and chocolate-y at the end of my meal. In fairness, the contrast of the vanilla ice cream and rich chocolate taste was pretty good. Better not just let it sit because it turns hard when it's cold.

    Cocktails!
It is with a heavy heart that I decided not to try the cocktails served to us because I have work that night. That tequila sunrise is calling on to me. Will definitely come back for the alcohol! 😭

We were also informed that Brad and Pit's now have live acoustic performances every Tuesdays at 9:00 PM! For this month until April, they're having Kevin Roy! [Edit: 05/30/17 They now have Kath Sundiam until the end of June.] So if you want to just kick back and relax after a long day's work with officemates or friends, this is the perfect place to go to. Great food and good music!

Brad and Pit's is certainly one of those handful of places that stays true to the phrase "will give you more bang for your buck." At affordable prices, you can expect great tasting dishes with huge servings! Thank you once again for the awesome gastronomic experience, Brad and Pit's, and as always, Zomato!
