    Patricia

Majority of my friends call me Trish, I guess you could call me that too. I'm a transcriptions editor with a really messed up body clock and never ending affinity for films, food and written words. I like street art, sweets, neutrals and monochromes, sushi, window seats, golf carts and lazy weekends.

Some of the things that completely preoccupy me are my fixation with the now defunct The Civil Wars and their beautiful art of sadness, Oh Sehun, sleeping, CSS and HTML, @iameden, and those damn hypnotizing Tasty videos. Top country in my travel bucketlist? Iceland. But the one that will always have my heart? Hong Kong.

    Beantage Cafe

Different cafes and hole-in-the-wall restos continue to sprout in Cavite lately, and I, together with my food trip partners in crime, Cy and Pabs, made it our mission to try out all these much talked about places! Last July, we were finally able to dine at Sebo Pacific, and this time, we had an impromptu afternoon at Beantage Cafe. We rarely have our schedules aligned, so when we do, we definitely make it worthwhile!

I kept seeing this Ferrero ice blended drink from fellow blogger, Claire's Facebook page, that made me very curious, and was surprised that the cafe she was frequenting was just in Imus! Luckily for us, an even closer branch of Beantage Cafe (Molino) opened some time this year, so we opted to visit that instead.

The predominant use of wood and the cafe's set-up reminds me of those Korean cafes in Taft, but what separated Beantage Cafe from those are the orange walls with cutesy murals about food and coffee. Though I think it definitely caters more to teens and college students as it's not those quiet types of coffee shops where you can meet someone for a meeting or do some work. It gets a little crowded and noisy because it's right next to a school. I guess the aesthetics say a lot. It's colorful, vibrant and youthful. They even offer board games! I think that has become a trend lately.

We then checked their menu and what do you know? They have rice meals available!

So hard to get a decent shot when space is limited. Hahaha.
    Red Velvet Pancakes (PhP 135)
Lechon Kawali (PhP 115) / Sizzling Porkchop (PhP 125) / Salisbury Steak (PhP 120)
Ferrero Blended Drink (PhP 160) / Cafe Latte (PhP 95) / Mango Tiramisu (PhP 90) / Red Velvet Cheesecake (PhP 140)
Our supposed afternoon coffee turned into food coma. Hahaha. We were all just laughing at how much food we ate. I was with 2 pregnant women, so the cravings were at a whole new height. LOL. Given at how big the servings of their food are, it was definitely worth the buck. I ordered the Lechon Kawali (of course) and I was surprised by the hefty serving. Same goes for the Red Velvet Pancakes which were 5 layers of flapjacks topped with generous amounts of whipped cream! So sinful yet so good!

My top picks were there Ferrero Blended Drink (there's something satisfying with finishing your meal with a mouthful of Ferrero chocolate) and the Mango Tiramisu! If you're from around Bacoor and looking for a place to hangout with friends, pay Beantage Cafe a visit! The food and coffee are great, and this looks like a friendly neighborhood nook that you and your friends will enjoy!
