Here's an irony: I'm practically living in the South all my life but (considering how much I love to try new places for food and CUPCAKES) I've only been to BF Homes once. Hahaha. After the whole cupcake phenomenon hit our shores, I've always heard about this cupcake shop in BF called Larcy's, and everyone seems to love their pastries. Of course, I've attempted to (meaning asked people to go with me) visit Parañaque's version of Maginhawa Street again, but all efforts are always in vain (cc: Quich, Ton, Joyce!)
After having breakfast at Juanita's a couple of weeks back, Ian, Charm and I decided to scout for something sweet. Quickly whipped out my phone and used my Zomato app to search for the nearest cupcake shop and surprise, surprise: Larcy's has opened a branch in Capitol Commons! (Okay, if you just saw our reactions IRL, you'd be laughing at how passionate we are for cupcakes. Hahaha.)
Being located in a mall, their little space (though there's a second floor) is not as cutesy as their flagship store in BF but still very charming, girly and... cupcake-y. You know what I mean.

I think the second floor can seat 10 people or so. We also opted to sit by that little corner where there's a see thru window where you can watch as they make the cupcakes (which is so therapeutic), you know, like the ones in Krispy Kreme?
Serving the cupcakes in pastel-colored cupcake holders was a nice, nice touch! Props for the presentation. Our dessert choices were: Toblerone Cheesecake (Charm's, a definite must-try -- the cupcake, not Charm haha), Pink Velvet (mine) and Kit Kat Overload (Ian's). Charm's been to the BF branch and told me that their red velvet cupcake was a tad dry for her liking. But still I went ahead and tried it. It's always the first thing I go for in any cupcake shop!
For me, I found it to be an absolute delight. The cream cheese frosting is the bomb! I can safely say that it's one of the best I've had because you can just taste that they're not scrimping on their ingredients. I've had more expensive cupcakes that don't deserve their price. As opposed to Charm's experience, my cupcake was moist and the cream cheese frosting on top was just superb!
I was also really excited to try their Frozen Hot Choco Velvet, which is apparently a crowd favorite. It's even included in looloo's Top 8 Most Popular Hot Chocolate Drinks in Manila. It's really something thirst-quenching on a hot summer day, it was fine. But as for the taste, there's nothing really extraordinary about it, given it's price of PhP 185. I wish there was more personality to it!
If you have sweet tooth, sampling cupcakes from Larcy's is a must. The prices of the cupcakes were in a reasonable range (this bunch ranged from PhP 75 - 95) though the drinks maybe a bit steep. But since this one is located in a mall near where I work, I would be back in a heart beat to try all the other cupcake flavors that they offer. I've also read that they serve all-day breakfast here so I guess you could have a proper meal and dessert in one go. :)
