    Patricia

Majority of my friends call me Trish, I guess you could call me that too. I'm a transcriptions editor with a really messed up body clock and never ending affinity for films, food and written words. I like street art, sweets, neutrals and monochromes, sushi, window seats, golf carts and lazy weekends.

Some of the things that completely preoccupy me are my fixation with the now defunct The Civil Wars and their beautiful art of sadness, Oh Sehun, sleeping, CSS and HTML, @iameden, and those damn hypnotizing Tasty videos. Top country in my travel bucketlist? Iceland. But the one that will always have my heart? Hong Kong.

As the image above says, I will be giving away a Starbucks planner for free. These are the few moments in life when I feel really generous. Haha. So if you think you're the only one reading my blog, good for you then. Hahaha. Of course, there is the possibility that no one reads my blog, so if no one else wants the planner, it goes automatically to my bestfriend, Cy. If you want the freebie, just comment below with your name and e-mail address. (I will be posting the lucky person on January 1, 2012 January 2, 2012. And if you're a random person from the internetz, don't worry i'll be handling the shipping of the planner.)

So yes, it's that time of the year again to do some looking back or a recap, I thought it would be more convenient to just answer this and hopefully, I can get a good look on how my 2011 was. I think 2010 was the most rocky year of my life though 2011 is definitely a runner up.

2012: a new year, a fresh start. Now that I feel I'm getting somewhere, maybe I should set priorities and goals. Maybe I'll make a separate list for that. Let's all hope for 2012 to be kind and may He always give us wisdom in every decision we make in life.

    1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Shifted careers. My previous work and current work are probably on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

    2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
The most consistent thing I want to do each year is to lose weight, and for a certain time I achieve it. But then I do not have the will power to keep it. I don't really make New Year's resolutions, I just have some things at the top of my head I know I need to improve.

    Good Evening, world.

What's keeping me busy? Disney movies. I don't know why but I kept on watching Disney movies the past few days. Started with A Little Mermaid, then Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White and the seven dwarfs, and now Peter Pan. I have yet to watch James and the giant peach, Ponyo, Spirited Away (again), and 101 Dalmatians. Seriously, I love to watch these movies though when you watch:

    1. Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White, you kind of get this pattern of how they wish for someone to love them and then shit happens and then the happily ever after happens.
    2. Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, you can see that Malificent and The Queen look a lot alike.
    3. Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White, the movie starts with a book.

So far, next to Alice, Ariel is my favorite Disney princess. Hahaha.

On the other hand, today is supposed to be Things I Like Wednesday but... meh.

Well, this day turned out a little but different than the past few days. I finally got to go out! Yes, Tagaytay was cancelled again. We spent the whole afternoon rummaging through the stores at our local mall, taking advantage of the post holiday sale.

    . Tuesday, December 27, 2011 .

Out of extreme boredom, I used up all my films that I reserved for the plans I had before. I'm not mad or anything, it's just that I want to do something and the universe tells me to stay at home. I only had 7 films on my Instax camera. Here are the random shots I made today. I apologize in advance for the mediocrity.

Clockwise: My feet, my face, our window and what is supposed to be a mirror shot.
So yeah, I learned that you can't do mirror shots or such on this camera. What a noob. Haha. I was trying to do the double exposure thing but sadly, when I thought about doing that, I ran out of film. Maybe I should do more research first before wasting my films. And I do wish someone could take ~*~my~*~ photos so that I the pictures wouldn't look like Facebook default photos.

More funny pictures in the future maybe. I wish I wouldn't be too lazy to go out tomorrow. Even if I'm alone. There are things and bills to pay.

I'm supposed to go out right now, around 5 pm, but I guess that'll be cancelled too. I should just definitely go out tomorrow.

Why do plans keep getting cancelled just about when I am ecstatic to go out.

I am now very, very sleepy.

    . Monday, December 26, 2011 .

It's one of those days when nothing interesting has been happening in my life. And a big void is beginning to appear on this blog. I hate it when I don't do anything new. But I guess, sometimes, that's just the way it is. Nothing unusual. Just the daily routine. Nothing extraordinary.

I can only share this picture I snapped a few minutes ago, it's my brother and our dog named Steve.

    Steve <3
I think this picture is the highlight of my day. How boring, I know. If you're a Facebook friend, you've probably seen that picture there first and realize how boring could I be, posting the same shit. I know that, asshole.

I spent Christmas at work, it went by just like any usual day. I was still happy that the tradition of opening gifts together was not broken. I'm just sad that I won't be able to spend New Year's Day at home which is more fun than Christmas Day. We have this life long thing of jumping at 12 midnight, when it turns January 1. It's a habit we (me and my bestfriend) had since we were kids thinking that we would grow exceptionally tall if we do that. And then time went by, now we're both almost 25 years old and we're just doing it the past few years just because we feel like we have to.

I'm thinking of pursuing something like an Instax Project. You know, that thing you do when you take pictures everyday and tell the world about it. It may not seem like it but I'm absolutely happy to have this Instax camera. At least, I am inspired to think of something new and fresh each day.

I had interesting conversations with interesting people today and it got me thinking. I won't elaborate anymore because I don't want to divulge on my ~*~feelingz~*~ and I don't want this blog to turn into a teenager's blog filled with teenage confusion, emotions and angst. Hahaha.

I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore.

I do hope (some of) you stay tuned for some interesting, funny as hell, likeable posts. Maybe tomorrow?

First, let me greet you a very Merry Christmas! For the longest time, this is how I spend my Christmas: Hear mass on Christmas eve, eat Noche Buena with my family, drink a little with my bestfriend, go to Tagaytay on Christmas Day with my whole extended family (mother's side). But none of those will happen this year. This time, I'll be spending the turn of the clock to December 25 at work. Yes, this is the first time it'll happen after 24 years of tradition. Changes, changes. We just need to embrace it.

Traffic's worse today, it took me two and a half hours to get home. I can just imagine how it will be later when I go to work. And it's raining! I'm now home alone, about to sleep, and here are the little things that made me happy this Christmas Eve:

    Mogu-Mogu Fruit Juice
Real Mango fruit juice with nata de coco! Yum yum! My quick fix for mango juice. If you don't like mango, then I don't like you too. Haha!

    Spam
Who doesn't like Spam, right? I love Spam as much as I love Ma Ling and breakfast food. I love it like the internet and the sunshine after long days of rain. I love it with all my freaking heart. What makes me love Spam even more is this! Spam with bacon! Spam love x 85663028750495. Thank you Spam for doing this.

    Artwork Doodle Notebook
I've blogged and blogged about the great choices of planners you can have for 2012 but I figured, an unruled doodle notebook will suffice for everything. They have a wide variety of designs as cover, and blank pages that will serve as your canvas for everyday! If you like Artwork's shirt designs, you'll definitely like their doodle notebooks to accompany you, anytime, anywhere!

    Chic-Boy's Turones con Leche
Was starving at work around lunchtime but too lazy to eat at the pantry, we ordered at Chic-Boy (Jupiter Branch) and of course, had myself the famous CB6. Again, if you don't know CB6, you should. You definitely should. Get up your ass and try it now. Anyway, our Team Leader suggested we try the Turones con Leche because it's a good dessert. Without hesitating, I ordered one to find out how good it is.
I already ate 4 when I remembered to take a picture. Lol.
One order actually consists of 6 pieces of Turon with a hefty serving of caramel sauce. Yum yum yum! And it's all for PhP30! The Turon was crunchy on the outside and the banana filling is soft but not mushy. ANd the caramel sauce is just so perfect! Glad I ordered this one!

    Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol
TBH, I never watched any of the Mission Impossible movies. So I never knew the story of how everything started and all of that. We were hanging out at the mall yesterday and decided to watch this, I have to say that I like it (duh)! I liked that the movie was a combination of a little comedy, suspense and action! Though there were a few lines that I found a little too dramatic.

    . Sunday, December 18, 2011 .

We all know that during December, we all got extra money because of the different bonuses (Christmas bonus, 13th month pay and/or annual tax refund). I told myself I'm gonna save money this time around so I can pursue the Web Design course next year but it seems the universe conspires once again, and now I am powerless over the things I spent my money on. I could just slap myself hard on the face for all the unnecessary purchases I made, a couple of thousand pesos could've been saved. But oh well, the damage has already been done.

Here's the list of the things I shouldn't have bought but sadly, I gave in and I did:

    1. A new pair of Chuck Taylors (Degree of needlessness: 1/5)

Well, maybe I've been meaning to buy a new pair but definitely not now. When I went to the Converse sale, I thought I could avail a pair for around PhP700. Lol. Yes, I was expecting that much discount. I'm only half guilty for purchasing the shoes because in the long run, I know I will need this.

    2. Fuji Instax Cheki Mini 20 (Degree of needlessness: 3/5)

I love anything instant, that's what I say over and over. I have no plans whatsoever of acquiring this analog camera until I came across a certain post in Tumblr. And the impulsiveness washed over me, after a few minutes of finding this is Ebay, I clicked 'Buy Now'. I was thinking now on how I shouldn't have bought this but paying around PhP3,000 for a package that includes the camera, 2 batteries, snap on close-up lens and 8 films seems like such a good deal that I, unfortunately, didn't resist.

    . Friday, December 16, 2011 .

Unplanned trips sure are the best! Went to SM Megamall today with some of my friends from work because of the 'Up to 70% off sale' at Converse. It's been ages since I last wore one and of course, the cheapskate in me cannot resist!

I've been wanting a new pair of sneaks for the longest time and the timing is just perfect. We were there around 10 am, went to MegaTrade Hall A and found this crowd waiting outside, waiting for the doors to open.

    The competition! Haha.
A few friends arrived there earlier so we squeezed ourselves through the crowd and joined them in waiting. And finally, the doors were opened!

    . Wednesday, December 14, 2011 .

After waiting for so long, my favorite salon here in Cavite finally had a promo for Hair Rebonding. It's been a year since I had my hair treated for a relax. I had to wait for December too because I will be paying for it this time. Hahaha. Say hello to my chemical-infused hair!

    Yehey!
You don't see any difference, eh? Fuck you! Hahaha.

Sometimes, you just realize how hard it is to be a woman. It took 4 and a half hours to finish the whole thing and I kept squirming on my seat because I'm really very sleepy and it's just so hard spending 4 and a half hours with your ass on a chair. But yeah sure, it paid off. I will have decent hair for the next 6 months perhaps.

Then there's pedicure, eyebrow threading (which hurts like shit) and facial treatment. You see, I am a girl. Hahaha.

Next I have in mind is to cut my hair short.

OT: Funny google search directs to my site. LOL

For those who come here via Google search of Lego Planner or Galison Fun Plan, I've got an update.

(12/31/11- Want to get a FREE Starbucks 2012 Planner? Click here!)

I don't really know if there are other branches of Fully Booked/National Bookstore that has actual stocks of these (because I've tried looking but failed), but for those who don't want to go out anymore, I've got a list of online stores that are currently selling these planners.

    1. Pretty In Fairness
This online shop is selling Lego Planners in many colors. Click here to view their Multiply site.

    2. Beau Monde and Co.
From what I've read, they've got one stock of this adorable planner left. Click here to check their Multiply site.

Now, if ever you read this too late and all those sites ran out of stock, I've got other suggestions for you.

    . .

Lesson learned: Never get too excited. Hahaha.

We already had a plan on how we're gonna maximize our time yesterday as Cy still has to go to work later in the evening. It's a good thing I was able to shop for clothes last Friday, otherwise, everything would have been a disaster from the start.

Last Thursday, I sent an e-mail to this Digital Arts school to inquire on how much would it be to take up a course on Web Design. And I got a response and an invitation for a free 3-hour workshop on their school. I happily agreed! I do not usually resist anything that's free. Hehe. I got Cy to tag along with me since malls are not yet open after our shifts. Since it was just the same street as our office, we went there after a coffee fix.

    . Friday, December 09, 2011 .

You see, I have this affinity with mirrors. Or maybe, I like myself better when I see myself in some mirrors. I have this habit of taking pictures of myself/my reflection especially on those convex mirrors on the corners of convenience stores. Hahaha. And now I just realized I have a building collection of mirror shots.

    1. Tax Due. Most people will be receiving tax refund this December but I'm worrying that things will be the opposite for me. I get the computations as per one of our Team Leaders showed us but they all say it'll be a different scenario if you are previously employed this year. To think that, I had two previous employers this year, argh!

    2. More skills. Everybody loves our LOB for even though we only have one (1) skill, we have the same pay as those with nine (9) skills. And as I learned, the more skills you have, of course, the broader your scope of work is. And recently, since Christmas will be the peak season of our account, a handful of agents were trained for another skill just to cope up with the up coming demand. I was fine with that until it was announced earlier that we will be acquiring a total of four (4) skills and the other three (3) skills, we will be trained for a mere four (4) hours.

I was just in shock when I learned this. Everything is just so fast. I know this is not a bad thing because it means the business is doing good. It's just that I just wish there'd be extra time to prepare ourselves more for this. Good luck.

    3. Serenitea. For some reason, I can't find the perfect time to drop by at Serenitea and have a decent Mango Yakult. What's funny is that there is actually a branch just near our office. But I don't really know what are the store hours and most of the time after work, I'm too sleepy to wander around. But of course, today is different because it's payday. Hopefully, I can drop by before I go to training later.

    4. Christmas shopping. I'm now thinking of all the gifts I could buy for people I love and I should budget all my money to accommodate all of this and actually have spare to spend on my hair. I sort of hate the Christmas rush because it makes everything so tiring (too many people, too many choices and not having enough time!).

    5. Non-fashion related blogspot account. I really, really want to find a blog that is not about fashion. Arts is okay. Music. Movies would be great. It seems impossible to find one. All I see are these blogs with dresses and Lookbook accounts, etc.

    6. A new tattoo. If I have enough spare money after the holiday season, I'm thinking of getting another tattoo. I really don't have anything in mind right now. For all I know, it's still gonna be a favorite word/phrase/quote/line from a song. Let's see if I'll be able to do this before the year ends.

It's gonna be a busy month for me. I really, really hope I don't get a tax due.

    Image from flimsythekitten.blogspot.com
Let this post add fuel to the fire. Hahaha.

First, let me define 'girl crush':
According to CNN, "A girl crush is by no means a physical or sexual attraction. It's part jealousy, part admiration. This is someone you admire from some kind of distance, like a co-worker, classmate, or old friend that you haven't seen or spoken to in years. Girl crushes fulfill certain voids, like your want for a new wardrobe or that auburn hair color that no hair colorist could ever duplicate."

(Read rest of the article here.)

Now that we've got that out of the way, here's my list:

    1. Megan Fox

Never mind the squeaky voice and mediocre acting skills. Never mind the boob job, nose job and other jobs she's done to herself. Never mind all the crazy news before that she was actually a man (when you actually type 'Megan Fox is" on Google, the first suggestion is 'Megan Fox is a man'). What she looks like now actually compensates for everything that I've just mentioned.

    . Tuesday, December 06, 2011 .

I was looking forward to a very happy December because of all the plans I had to go to different places. But now it sucks because everything seems to be wrong and plans are, one by one, cancelled. [Insert the saddest smiley here]
    • Our wave's plan of having a Christmas party at Puerto Galera will forever be a plan since all the vacation leaves we applied were disapproved. That and my scheduled rest days for the month are Tuesdays and Wednesdays as opposed to Wednesday and Thursday trip. I have this dilemma of trading shifts because after the longest time, I was able to get the 10 pm shift. Goodbye, drinking Tanduay Ice while sitting on the seashore. Goodbye sceneries. Goodbye photos.
    • The trip to Silverbox Cafe in Divisoria was a failure.
    • I haven't been to Serenitea yet to try the Mango Yakult Tea and Mango Frost.
    • We were not able to pursue the supposed trip to La Mesa Eco Park due to some unavoidable circumstances.

(12/11/11 - Lego Planner/Galison Fun Plan Update: click here)

We all want to be organized/prepared/reminded of the things important to us, which led to a necessity for a thing called a Planner.

Now, honestly, I don't get to consistently use these things throughout the year but it would be nice to find one that can make you actually organize your life everyday for 365 (or 366) days. Haha. If you know someone who could use one, it could be the right gift just before the new year starts!

So this December, let's start the game of searching for the perfect planner!

Here are some I found on the world wide web:

    1. Papemelroti Planners (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)

Cheap but pretty and functional. 19.75PhP at Papemelroti branches.

You know I've got so much for you and I
    But it's over.
    . .

Today started out the usual way: got out of bed, few minutes at the bathroom, prepared food and sat in front of the computer. While my brother is snoozing the morning away, I found myself looking at some photo stills of Silent Hill and I began to think about all the movies that scared the shit out of me. I'm not a fan of horror/macabre and all those that include intense blood and gore, I can only tolerate so much. But sometimes, due to my brother's insistence, I challenge myself to sit through a whole movie (as long as he's there to watch with me, hahaha). You see, my brother has this strange fascination with movies like this, except the fact that he's scared to watch Paranormal Activity alone. Hahaha.

Here's my very short and limited list:

    1. The Strangers (2008)

If I saw the other poster before, it would have spoiled the whole movie for me. This movie scared me because most of the time, the scenes were so creepy silent. It's like that paranoid feeling you have when it get's too silent, something might jump out somewhere out of the blue. I was always holding my breath for a long time during parts of the movie. I'm a very easy person to scare, so this movie has done it's job pretty well.

    . Thursday, December 01, 2011 .

Time indeed flies so fast. Here we are, at the first day of the last month of the year.

Spent the entire morning with the bestfriend, Cy just hanging around and talking about our lives in general.

    The morning in a photo:

Man, we're all grown up. Matured, in away. We talk about things we've never talked about before in the history of our life long friendship. Of course, it feels good to be sharing things and having intellectual conversations with your best friend. But on thing is for sure, we're still at that point in our lives where nothing is set in stone and everything is still dependent on other factors in our lives.
